Hi, we have had a Nissan Sentra 92' E for almost 16 years now. I'm 15, and I really love this car; we've had it since I was born. I want to drive this car when I'm of age (a couple more years), but the problem is that it has 235, 000 KM on it, and it's almost 16 years old. So, pretty soon, I'm sure it'll stop working. Anyway, I was wondering, when I have enough money saved up, can I buy a new engine and have it put in this car? If so, which engine(s) are capable of being put in this car? How much would it cost for the engine and the installation?

Find a local mechanic who does Nissan repairs and ask them what they can do for your car.

Yes it is possible to have a engine installed into that car. The cost may very from place to place. But why would you put that much money into a car that has 235,000 miles on now and it will have a bunch more by the time you get it? Save your money and buy a newer car with a lot less miles on it. If you want to tinker with that car at a later date then do so. But my advice would be to buy one with low miles on it and you can put those 16 years of driving on it.

These engines will continue to work well into the 400's. Just maintain it and do oil changes every 3 months. This car could easily go for another 16 years. Also change the timing belt every 2 to 3 years.

If you have the money try to find a se-r engine at a auto salvage yard. Your looking to spend a few thousand. Im from Jersey most ppl i know would do an engine for like 1500 you might get be able to find that engine for about the same. Expect around 3 grand. I say its cheaper to buy a different car but if you like it that much and the body is in good shape clean it up. Could have a future classic.

If it`s still running well don`t worry, nissan`s have gone up to over 300k with minimal problems if well maintained. The Sentra is not something you want to spend a lot of money on, even if it`s in really good shape. Check here for used low milage motors and find someone in your area and see what they want to do a re and re. You can look at between $400- 1200 for a low < 100k motor . http://car-part.com/

something is accessible i think. besides the undeniable fact that, there are adjustments and the engine will possibly no longer in good shape nicely interior the engine compartment. you're able to do it besides the undeniable fact that it is going to require electric artwork and probable a severe volume of physique artwork. while you're as much because it go fo it yet, i'd tend to declare purchase the motor vehicle you like.
