I assume you mean with the atomic bomb. It was simply for two reasons:
1. Developers of the bomb wanted to judge its effectiveness and selected possible cities based on whether or not they had already been bombed with conventional bombs. They wanted cities that did not have bomb damage, which Hiroshima did not, so that they could be assured that any damage after the atomic bombing resulted from that bomb.
2. The sun was shining there that morning, which was necessary for accuracy of targeting and documenting with pictures. Had it been cloudy the plane would have been diverted to another city.

i remember this bits from a class. Tokyo and many other cities in Japan had been bombed during the war and had somewhat been damaged. up to that point in the war, Hiroshima was largely untouched by the Allied forces. In the choice for cities to "test the atomic bombs" the Allied chose Hiroshima as it was a medium sized city of about 100,000 people and that would somewhat limit the damage yet prove a point. Also, it was said that they avoided cities like Kyoto and Kamakura as they are highly historical and have great value and a long history.

I have actually been to Hiroshima and the A-bomb museum. its a very touching and sentimental place and you really see the damage of the atomic bomb in the clothes and pictures preserved in that museum. Also, this museum with all its artefacts and history cost about US$1 to enter!??

It wasn't.
Many cities had been bombed before.
Hiroshima was the first one to be bombed with a nuclear weapon.
