It is important to show interviewers the type of person and character you will bring to their atmosphere. When at work a person must be able to put personal issues and feelings aside, your personal issues at of no concern or importance to your coworkers, nor is your job an appropriate place to air your dirty laundry.

Another reason to be professional, is because most jobs are a melting pot. There are a number of people from all different walks of life with different morals and values. By maintaining a professional manner, you will be sure to not offend others.

Professional is different for each job. Some employers are more laxed when it comes to professionalism, some are more strict. I suggest when searching for the proper job for you, you take a tour of the facility and observe the employees. If you are looking for a job where professionalism is not high priority, DO NOT get a job where professionalism matters. You will more than likely find yourself frustrated and bored.
