You're right, Congress was controlled by the republicans at the time, but if I remember right, all but 2 democratic senators supported sending the troops to Iraq at the time.
I know this will sound morbid to some, but we've been at war in Iraq for nearly 6 years now, and have lost 3600 (can't think of the actual number now but it's close) troops in combat right? On average, there are 500 to 700 training deaths per year during peace time. Do the math. Were you just as upset over those deaths? The only reason no one knows about peace time deaths, is their deaths aren't occurring in Iraq.

Ill I can say is" What was it Murtha said about the surge?" before he was forced to re assess his answer,or what Did Bill Clinton say about Iraq and Saddam Hussuen during the end of his presidency,something about WMD's and this man must be taken out(look in his library web site) Or Hillary pushing for an attack(even in Iraq) and supporting it.
But if its easier for you to say Bushes war,I guess it makes you feel better not having to remember or think beyond a left cheesy taliking point.
