practice the examples of the section you are currently doing in class
when doing your homework, find a comfortable, quiet place with everything you need (pencils with good erasers, paper, claculator, good lighting and writing surface)...elilminate as many distractions as possible so you can focus...make sure you take a break if you go beyond an hour
check your homework review when its returned, check for any errors
review material before a test, be prepared
if you are just studying math, find particular problems that interest you and you have seen real world challenges where math has been a great way to solve the challenge
hang in there ..... it really takes practice which leads to insight

if you have learned any equations, go over them and be sure you know them by heart and be sure you would know which one to use when asked in any given situation. Also, find the chapters in a textbook if you have one that include the things you have gone over in class. It is hard to study for math, but this way has always been effective for me. Go through notes and practice problems also and make up some of your own. Hope this helps!

Math isn't like other subjects where you can just read the book. You should go through your textbook and notes slowly, so you can understand what you are reading. You need to go through any examples you are given carefully until you understand how the problem was solved and why it was solved that way. Practice questions help.

i find the best way to study math is to review homework and notes taken in class... go over equations you learned... the best way to understand and study an application, is to practice doing it through example, that way you can be sure you know how to do it...

Do some of the problems in your book. I recomend the odd ones because they are generaly in the back of the book so you can look up the answer AFTER you solve it to see if you are doing it right. if you seem to be doing good move on the the next part if you are having trubble then go back to the chapter and just look at how they do the work there.

if you don't have notes the best way is to to either ask your teacher or older sibling to help explain it to you. if that doesn't help or it is too embarrasing ask a smart friend who'll take the time to explain it to you
