The message is that you can not put a price on love. The whole movie centers around a young woman who has to choose between true love and personal security, and she chooses true love. In the end Rose recognizes that she had taken advantage of both and had never truly chosen the way Jack had when he stayed in the water that night. It is for that reason that she finally throws away the necklace to let that part of her die with the people who drowned so many years earlier. It was her ultimate decision and her way of chosing love over all else.

Titanic was a blockbuster movie whose main appeal was the special effects. You can draw your own conclusions about any message or moral theme from the movie. It was basically one long [3 hour] love story which was fictitional but necessary to engage a wide audience. The casting of Di.Caprio was to get teenagers interested in the movie. After all over 300 million dollars is a lot of money to make a movie and today is a bit of a gamble, but the movie brought in much more.

I don't think there's necessarily a moral to the movie just one
of those classic love stories that really capture the heart and
also talks about the sinking of ship that many people suffered
from. But if I had to say one specific message that I did get
through the story would be the love between Jack and Rose.
Love has no boundaries no matter your race, ethnicity, social status...love is colorblind.

That even though tragedy strikes you must go on and live life to the fullest. That is seen through all the pictures of her life that were shown. She lost the man she loved but her love for life was every bit as strong as her love for Jack.

Basically, it's fact and fiction. The Titanic really sank, but the love story between Rose and Jack wasn't real. She lost her true love and never got over it.

LOL
Which plot?
There's literally 4 sub plots going on in this almost 3 hour movie.
Love, politics, society, tragedy.
PHENOMENAL movie and I simply suggest you watch it and obtain your own thoughts.
