This is a common question and is best summed up with another question: Is mobility important to you? The ONLY true advantage a laptop provides is mobility. You will almost always get more bang for your buck out of a desktop computer because they don't have to worry about fitting into a small space, extreme heat, or low power. Furthermore, you'll spend a great deal more getting a laptop repaired than you will a desktop because laptops primarily use "proprietary" hardware or hardware that is specific to that machine. That means if you need a new motherboard you have to find one that fits specifically into that computer. With a desktop you can put almost any motherboard in and fit it with a new processor and RAM. The bottom line is, don't bother with a laptop unless you NEED mobility.

Well, I would buy a pc, why?
Because the pc is faster than a laptop, more graphics, better resolution (depends on the monitor, too) or... laptops are useless in the house,

Good luck

I prefer laptops more. Not only is it more practical in school, but even at home. You can just pick it up & carry it anywhere. It's awesome when traveling too.
