Yes, earlier I was listening to Buddy Holly, who has been dead for almost 50 years, and now I am listening to Tom Petty, who is still alive, but whose music will still be played 50 years after he has died.

hi no! i do no longer think of the 'cookie-cutter' bands that rule the industry are going to harm rock as an entire- I purely do no longer. what's mainstream not at all did define rock and roll. as long as there is anger, angst, revolt- in spite of, there is gonna be rock. Rock can not at all die. And if it does, it will be some day far into the twenty 2nd century while actual everyone seems to be listening to synth machines and rubbish cans or something. as properly, opinion is a super component to it.

i think some artists will but others wont our "flash in the pans" like the Spice Girls will not but other bands like U2 are still going strong and it's been years.

Oh Yea!......Bob Dylan....every generation has fans of his....and I listen to music that is hundreds of years old......so it has proved its ability to survive....and folk music which is the heartbeat of society....it will never die, perhaps change a little by each musician that does it "their way".....but never will it die.....
