If a galaxy the size of the Milky Way (about 30 kpc in diameter) was placed at various distance, what would its angular size appear to be? Express the answer in arc minutes. (can you please show work) Thank you :)

1mpc=1,000kpc

a. ATN(30kpc/10,000kpc)*60=10.3

b. ATN(30kpc/1,000,000kpc)*60=0.1

a. 30kpc/10 Mpc=0.003 rads= 10 arcminutes.
b. 30kpc/1000Mpc= 3E-5 rads=0.1 arcminutes.
To convert radians into degrees, multiply by 57.3. To convert degrees into arcminutes, multiply by 60.
1000 Mpc is a cosmological distance; nearly 1/4 of the radius of the observable universe. So with the telescopes we've got, ET could see our galaxy most of the way from the edge of the cosmos.
