I believe the heels I'm wearing now are 2" high. I can walk in them and it's taken me way too long to be able to walk in them. Now the problem is, even though I walk on the tip of my toes, this leaves the ball of my foot ACHING in pain! What do I need to do to stop the pain and continue on my glorious journey of being able to walk in heels?

just pretend you are naomi campbell....lean forward when you walk....practice in some old stilletos......be in a maralim monroe mode......apply a pomade to your hair..............do your nails......ya got an ache//??? SOAK IN DR SCHOLES WHEN YA GET HOME, DEAR...if ya got low arches....see a chiropodist.....you may need to strengthen that arch.....like a FORCED ARCH!

First I would try on a different pair of high heels to make sure that its not just the shoes leaving your foot in pain ( like the shape of them ) they make inserts for high heels that you can even get at a place like k-mart. Other than that though you just have to practice, keep strong ankles and don't drag your feet.

it's hard to walk on heels for me because i mostly wear tennis shoes. BUT my advice is to walk on the tips of your toes. heels tend to cause pain no matter how you walk though. there are tons of gel inserts you can buy that help give you more support. i'd look into buying a gel insert. or try to wear your heels for small amounts of time.

The biggest "heel" I've waked in would be a cowboy boot. I'd guess that to be about 1/2 to 3/4"

Try taking a few minutes to stretch and relax your feet before putting on the heels. Stretch your toes, spreading them out as far as they can go, point and strech your heel and circle your feet.

Im 13 and when I wear heels ( for parties and stuff) ,my feet dotn hurt. Like even when I wore these really big ones for like a whole day. My feet are just strong ut ltos of pplz arn't.So wear those clear gel souls that your insert in oyur shoe.theres speical ones for heels

when your walking put the heel of your shoe down on the ground first, then bring your toe down. this helps make you more stable. I know how you feel, I can't walk in heels either. Remember, practice makes perfect!

you can get "Dr.Scholls" inserts for heels to deal with any pain. I have been walking in 4ins since 11 yrs old and absolutly love heels. you may also consider getting an ettiquitte coach who can help you with walking if you are oh so devoted.

I'd suggest practicing in the hall of your home walking in the heels. Try walking normally in them, if you pay alot of attention to how your walking in them then maybe that's the reason why you have problems. Try thinking graceful and elegant, just be confident when walking in them.

Heels are hard to walk in while you are getting used to them.
2 inch should be good for beginners.
your feet are going to hurt. Fact of life, until you get used to them.

try putting in pads to make the area around the ball of your foot more comfortable
don't land hard on your heels, because this ruins the shoe much faster
rather, instead of walking on your toes/ball of your foot, land slightly on your heel and follow it right away with the rest of your foot...it's hard to explain but practice around your house with your correct posture and maybe with shorter strides than you'd take with flats.
a slightly more comfortable option would be to wear wedges, which are not chunky in my opinion if you get certain styles..for example these:

another tip i've heard is to buy heels whose "bridge," if you will, starts closer to the rest of the foot rather than the structure of the heel being solely at the back of the shoe.
i think the main thing is to practice and to make sure you buy sturdy, relatively comfortable heels. happy strutting :)
