It doesn't go "up", it flows north, which happens to be up on most maps. Rivers can flow in any direction, north, east, west, or south -- as long as it's downhill.

Rivers can flow east, west, north, or south, but they always flow downward, from high elevations to low elevations. Don't confuse "north" and "south" with "up" and "down", which is an arbitrary choice of map orientation. The Nile starts in the mountains of eastern and central Africa and flows north toward the Mediterranean Sea, all the time flowing down.
I hope that helps.

"North" and "Up" are two different things. North is a direction toward the magnetic top of the world, and up is an angle that the land lies in different areas.
The Nile does not go up. It travels north, and it's not the only river to do that---Plenty of them do. No river in the world goes up---They all go downhill. Some go north, some south, some east or west. But all of them go down.
It's important to remember that North and South have nothing to do with Up and Down. Hope this helps.

The river just flows down hill, from the high mountains in the middle of Africa to the Nile Delta (point where Nile enters the Mediterranean Sea).

The Nile river, like all others, runs DOWNHILL, which happens to be North. The elevation is higher in Sudan and Sothern Egypt, which makes the river flow North.

its not about north or south, it about geography. there are higher points and mountains towards the south. therefore, the river flows down the mountains towards lower areas, which is in the north

The origin of the Nile is a metaphor for the origin of all things, for the discovery of the source of all life.
Geographically speaking, there is a more concrete answer.
