So I'm not sure if I should keep the lamp on all night. I haven't been for the last three months and not sure if I should. The turtle is in my room so the light will probably keep me up all night. Well just wondering if i should. Thanks for the help! :)

PS I have a red-eared slider turtle

Turtles need a 24 hour day just as you and I do. It's best to follow the light outside. When you wake up, turn the light on. When it gets dark outside, turn it off.
By leaving a light on, you aren't necessarily making it harder for them to sleep, you are actually making them more active. Reptiles all need an external heat source to produce energy, thus the heat lamp. If you leave it on all the time, lots of energy is produced. This leads to more food consumption and a very worn out turtle. :(

Red eared sliders love a habitat that is half water half land. An aquarium set up is perfect. You do not need the light on at night, try to keep the same schedual as the sun.

no, your turtle should have the light as long as the sun is up. it is supposed to do the same thing as the sun.

No, not needed. Just make sure he has a water heater. They need a cool down, dark period at night for good health.

No. They would appreciate the same light schedule each day. Do you have it on a timer?
