All baseball players & their agents are greedy. You can blame the Texas Rangers for the A Rod situation. They started it. He's the best player in baseball, and will legally (unlike Barry Bonds) shatter the home run record. Even as great as he is, nobody is worth that much.

If someone offered you millions & millions of dollars to do what you love, what would you do?

I'm sure he does a lot for charity, as many players do, but that does not get talked about so much.

Baseball really needs to change it's image if it wants to get back to being "America's Game." It's a shame that a game so full of history is now littered with scandal and greed and it's really caused the game of baseball to lose a lot of fans.

The players these days make as much per game as the old timers, the ones that played for the love of the game and the fans, made in an entire season. That's a true shame.

If I made as much as the players do now, I'd donate a lot to help the Children's Hospitals, the baseball veterans who set the table for these guys nowadays, Red Cross, etc.

Who needs that much money?

I don't really believe that Rodriguez is any more greedy than any other player. The truth is that they have never known a time where baseball players actually had to work second jobs or were unsure of their future after a 15 year career.

If you are good enough, and sometimes, when you aren't, you are pretty set after 6 years in the majors based on the lifestyle you could have had if not for baseball.

And, I don't believe it's the difference between one rich guy having the money and another one, it's the difference between a rich guy getting your money and it being in your wallet.

However, as truthfully pointed out, actors and singers are no better either.

He is just getting what someone is willing to play him.

He might very well use the millions he earns to do great philanthropic deeds. He's only 32. Lets give him a chance to play out his career and see what he does with his earnings before we judge him.

I mean, people criticized Gates for a long time for not doing any charity. But he was concentrating on building a company and earning money. Now he is one of the biggest philanthropists in the world.

And your point about "saving millions" what about all the movie starts and entertains who make just as much? Are they out "saving millions" too? its his monmey he can do what he wants with it: SEE OPRAH. Moral sense?" : SEE his annual income, seems pretty "Moral" to me lol

He is aloof, but not greedy.

Texas over paid him to jump ship, then paid the Yankees to get him out of The State. He is off of the Rangers books.

Did he ask for that money? Maybe....

Is he worth the money a team will pay for him? Yes.

He is a first ballot guy...the numbers will never lie.

Is he better the K G Jr.? Yes

Barry Bonds? Yes...until we find out about the juice..

In my opinion I think a-rod is greedy. I cant believe hes even being paid that amount of money to play baseball. I heard every at bat he makes 80,000 dollars. He should just be thankful for making millions of dollars, instead of worrying about the extra money that he should be paid for his incentives. At the end he could end up making over 300 million dollars. I would definitly help every charity i could, with 300 million dollars.

Maybe, but it isn't like he's taking money that would otherwise have gone to charity. It's just money being transferred from one rich man's wallet to another rich man's wallet. There are hundreds of thousands of rich people who could easily spare a wad of cash that could change someone's life without feeling any worse off themselves, A-Rod is just the one caught in the media spotlight.

He shouldn't be gettng paid that much, none of these celebrities should. What seriously makes them worth so much money when there are starving and sick people dying for just 10 per cent of that. He can't possibly have a legitimate reason to spend alll that cash and probably just waste it on drugs. They all do. The people paying them should make a pay cut and give it to charities.

Mostly everyone in the world is greedy one way or another. And if I was the biggest name in baseball, I would be greedy.

Yes. Nobody is worth that much. He is being unreasonable by asking for so much. He may be good, but he's not THAT good. That money is needed more in other places. Baseball players are already over-payed as it is, but he just crossed the line. All that money will only screw him up.
