How can we relate so deeply with them?

Oh, I am so sorry. I lost my dog a few years back, and my heart still aches when I think of him.

People and animals have a special love. It is truly giving and selfless. You give to the animal, and the animal gives to you. It's a beautiful loving experience.

I believe a bond so close is born between a human and a pet that cannot be put into words, because the feeling shared is beyond words.

So, it is true. When your pet is ill and dying, part of you dies along with him.

um, im not sure if you question is making complete since but i think this is the answer your looking for.... Humans can relate with Pets/Animals so deeply is b/c an animal/pets are an amazing thing. They say Dogs are a mans best friend. Well pets get really attached to humans(there owners) & treat them like there a "God" really... (even though there in only 1 true God) Animals trust humans with there life & protect them with there life too. There are SO MANY storys of an thype of animal protecting/saving humans lives! God put some of them on the earth for food. & some for an companion.

Pets are the children you choose. You love them, they depend on you and by choosing to have one live with you, you agree to share a life with them.

Often most people have better relationships with their pets than they do their spouses (eg: how many times do you argue with the dog about bills to be paid??). Or the wife that divorces the husband but keeps the dog. Pets contribute more to our emotional & mental stability than just about anything else.

They give much and they never ask much in return.

I feel sorry for people who can't relate to a pet, they can change your life.

A part of you IS dying. Pets are not only our companions, they are part of us, just like any other relative. A pet is someone who will love you unconditionally without asking for much, they only want some of your attention.
I'm really sorry about your loss, I know exactly what that is like.

I'm sorry your pet is dying. I have also had my pet leave. I just know that after a while it gets better. Just think how much better your life has been because of your pet.

They take on our emotion and character, we attach human feelings and emotions to them as we care for them. It is a part of life I had to live recently too. Good luck and remember the fun times you had and don't try to replace your pet until you are ready. Remember the new one if you get a new one isn't the same being.

When you tune it with your pet they pick up on this as they have a sixth sense. Strange as it may sound but pets do have a very close bond with their owners and they do know when their owners moods change......You must have a very close bond with your pet to feel this way. Just keep loving it as their love is unconditional and an animal instinctively knows how your feeling he doesn't want you to feel this way you need to see someone professional and express how you are feeling.......Be gentle on yourself

They are family.

You dog was there when yo had a crappy day, so he laid his head on your leg to make you feel better.

He was there when you went out to the park and you met Angela, whom you later married, because in tearing across the grass, crashed into her

he was there when that burglar tried to break into the house and he chased him off.

More than a friend, far more than a pet

Awww I do the same thing. They are a member of the family and we grieve the same as we would with a person. We rely on our dogs for emotional support sometimes and when they pass away, that part of us is taken away. When my childhood dog died (after being in my life for TWENTY YEARS) my parents and I had a "funeral" with flowers and prayer and had a little memorial service. It really helped to lay her to rest and ease my mind and guilt. We had to put her to sleep because she had a lot of medical problems. My heart goes out to you!
