so i missed the day when we learned about tan. and today i have no idea what the teacher was talkin about in class can anyone like explain it to me

Check the book but tangent is opp. side over adj. side. The same basic principles as sine and cosine. Just a different Formula. E - mail me if you have q's

In Geometry, the tangent refers to a line that touches a curve, usually a circle, at just one point.

The tangent to a circle is perpendicular to the radius drawn to the point of tangency.

If the tangent is horizontal, it means that there is either a maximum or a minimum value at that point.
