my 4th grade son has this as home work & I think its multiply he thinks its add and my 9th grader and 19 year old never had that (so they say)please help....thanks

to multiply 4 by 9 you can find the product of 5 and 9 and the product of 1 and 9 and ----- them.? Ok this one would be subtract? Thank you so much for the answer my son didnt bring home the book.I feel uneducated.....

the answer is add:)
sorry but he is right.
six times two = 12
six times one = 6
six times three= 18
12+6=18

:)

6 X3 = 6X2 + 6X1 = 12 +6 = 18
You add.

hey my good friend i c u have asked another wuestion, these guys are right it is add them because you get 18 both ways.
