Keep the DVD in the wrapper and take it to Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc because it doesn't matter since most retail stores use the same bar code for the cash registers. Tell customer service that someone got you this as a gift but you don't want it and want to exchange it. The store that you brought it back to will give you store credit towards just about anything, not just DVD's.

I've heard recently that Wal-Mart is getting stricter on having receipts for your returns. I would sell it - ebay, half.com, a local resale shop - or ask if a friend or family member would like to have it (not regifting so they don't have to go through the same hassle.) You could donate them to charities, or if all else fails, use them for crafts or really inferior coasters.

yes dvd's are fine. Id also add in a little something else tho. Like a gift card to Mcdonalds or something that they like. $5 or $10.00 Just a thought. OR buy them some popcorn to go with it and a soft blanket! So they can lay in bed cuddle up eat popcorn and watch there movies. :)

Some stores buy back DVDs, like The Wherehouse and Amoeba. You don't really get much money for them though. You could just tell the person who gave it to you that the movie they gave you is not really your taste (that may also help them understand what you like better) and ask them where they got it.

Find a store that carries the DVDs, probably Wal-Mart or Best Buy, and return them there......as long as they are unopened, they'll at least give you a store credit.

Yes, I would regift them or just hang on to them (you'll accumulate more) and trade off monthly with friends.

Just ask them where they bought it. If I spent $20 for a gift form someone and they didnt like the 'title' i wouldmuch prefer they asked me so they can exchange it for something they liked.

* Sweety that is exactly why I like to give gift certificates! People say they are sooooo 'impersonal' but at least they 'fit' and they aren't 'duplicates'*
Good luck! I would come right out and ask the giver if he/she would have problems with you exchanging the DVD's!!!

you might say 'wow, this is nice, where did yu find it?' & not tell t hem youre going to exchange it. dont unwrap it though.
wal-mart wont take stuff back if it's not theirs , if it isnt their upc code they'll know it. & besides,ya want to get a refund at he right store anyways....
