If even 10 percent of our population was addequetly trained and certified to carry concealed and allowed to carry it everywhere besides government offices I am willing to bet that the level of crime from these shooting spree killers will come to an almost complete stop. If a criminal thought that there was a 1 in 10 shot of his victim splattering him acrossthe nearest wall he would think twice about who he preyed on.
I love CCW laws but i feel that your carry permit needs to be accompanied with a annual or even semi annual Certification with a standard established. That way we do not have some barely trained yahoo, who got the permit cause he thought it was cool, packing a gun on a ccw permit he got 4 years ago.

There is a case for conceal and carry every time some idiot goes ballistic. Pandora is long out of the box and the idea of getting her back in is foolish.

I live in Tacoma, Washington and was working in the mall when we had a shooting in November 2005. The teen walked down the main hall shooting ahead of him. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. We all had to run and hide not knowing if one of these people behind me was the shooter. I actually had an undercover cop running behind me with his family. He had his gun out and was helping everybody to safety. You would think that he would be out in the mall looking for the shooter and helping the police and mall security? I feel there should be heavy security in malls because of all the violence, especially during holiday seasons.

I really don't know and I agree with a license to carry. The problem is, in crowded spaces, how many of us would remain calm and pick out the target, instead firing at will and killing more innocent people?

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting. Two things are important 1) individual protection and 2) defense against a tyrannical government.

I am all for guns and there is a gun for every occasion. I am sure that one shot one kill would not be achieved with a hand gun. A shot gun is a better weapon. Its big and can pack a real punch.

I'm afraid of guns, but I agree with you...we need to protect ourselves from the pricks who mean us harm. I may soon start lessons at the gun club in my area.
