Seattle. I think that's pretty self explanatory.

In Baltimore it's a very diverse music scene, but I'd say the bulk would be pop-punk. Bands like Good Charlotte, All Time Low, and SR-71 are from here and there's plenty more just like them around.
The hardcore/punk scene was big for a while, one of the more popular bands is xlooking forwardx: http://myspace.com/xlookingforwardx

Here in Chicago for the most part, its rap. Everywhere! only in very downtown is their a bit of indie, but there is metal/hardcore stores and places. The major Metal population is to the south were more Gothic/punk is around, but live( close to Chicago) I'm one of 5 people out of a whole suburb that like metal/Gothic/punk/good rock. the rest is a mix of rap,Spanish pop, and emo.

Minneapolis tends to be Hip hop/rap on the northside, dance club music downtown, Soul Asylum/Jay Hawks type music Uptown, metal in the suburbs, and Country Western outside of the metro area.

Well,
My town's "music scene" is pretty much clumped into the entire East-Coast Hardcore Scene of QLD, Australia. It's pretty rad, and we have a lot of grindcore, hardcore, metal and punk-ish bands in my town and that come through.
The best thing is that all the surrounding towns, and even cities like Brisbane, bring their bands and fans to our town and vise versa. It's like a huge sharing community, LOL.

Well, there isn't really a music scene in my local area. Just a bunch of potheads. However, about an hour away, in DC, there is, of course, an incredible scene. Irish Folk, Classic Rock, Hardcore Punk, Gangster Rap, Melodic Death Metal, you name it.

I live in central Florida, and the area I live in is like right down the road from the ghetto, so there is a LOT of rap here, and then there are all the people from like South America and the Carribean, so there is a lot of Hispanic and Island music.
Yeah, the 'scene' here is like me and my two best friends, go figure.

There was a time a few years ago when it seemed like every club was a blues club. We also have Paisley Park and a number of good rock venues. It's pretty eclectic in Mpls/St Paul. There's some good metal as well. I saw Ronny Dio here a couple of years ago in a small club

I live in Southern California and there is a lot of rap and r&b where I live (in the actual ghetto) but there are a lot of kids who listen to hardcore and screamo. But there's also a lot of kids who pretend that they like it so we have a lot of posers too. But we have hardcore shows once a week and they are PACKED for a little town. =]]
Yay!

This area (Los Angeles) is pretty diverse. We have dozens of clubs/music venues and a big music scene here. I'd say that at the moment Rap/Hip-Hop and "Indie" music are the biggest scenes.
