I'm talking pure bone, her. Like about 50% bigger

The average female pelvis is 11 inches wide . so 16inches is really wide.
Is it healthy?
Will the pelvis be more or less sturdy?
Probably a stupid question. but I would like to know.

What you are describing is known as 'Pelvis Justo Major' and it is when the biiliac width (i.e. the width of the upper part of the hip bones) measures at least 16.5 inches or more.

I have I found some information for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelvis_justo_major

Damn - my first love of my life (with whom I have children) had good childbearing 'ips!

Didn't stop her from having a small inlet and needing caesarian section for all of the kids though :-(

I bet she's got a sturdy pelvis, just like what you're describing. However it's not just the size of the hips in outer diameter - it'd be how much bone was present.

It would be possible to have wide hips but thin bones or weak bones. This would mean a less sturdy pelvis.

However, wide hips with strong and thick bones would mean a more sturdy pelvis.

wide hips means that it will be easier for you to have a child, less pain.
most sizes are healthy. 16 is healthy so is 11.
its not a stupid question ;]

She'll have no problem with childbirth. That's a good thing. That means no c-section. Other than that, I can't see what any problem or benefit would be.
