It depends on why you were supposed to be in court in the first place.

If you have a lawyer, call them first thing tomorrow and get advice on what to do next.

If this was just a traffic ticket, you can probably go to the clerk's office tomorrow and get a new court date or see the judge tomorrow.

Whenever someone fails to appear in court, the judge usually issues what is called a bench warrant for their arrest, which means that the warrant was issued by the judge. If you are ever stopped by the police and your driver's license is run through the LEIN system, the bench warrant will show up and you will be arrested.

Most judges are understanding if someone misses a court date, as long as it is the first time. Call the court and tell the clerk what happened. Each judge has their own policies, and these will be explained to you. However, you will most likely be given a new court date.

When you appear on your new date, the bench warrant will be taken away and your matter will be handled by the judge at that time. If you are polite and humble when you are before the judge, you will not get into any extra trouble.

The bottom line is call the court right away and get this handled and it won't get worse.

You do not need a bail bondsman.

Your really should have made it to court. You probably already have a warrant out for your arrest. I would call someone that you trust to arrange for your bond; however if you show up tomorrow and tell them you are a complete moron and forgot; the Judge may allow you to testify without any restrictions on your freedom. Blowing off a summons is not really a good idea!!

Are you serious!?
They do not like this what so ever. I had a friend of mine fail to appear in court, which wasn't his fault. The stupid court mailed to order to the wrong address. Didn't matter though, the Sheriffs arrested him as his work and his father had to post bail.
CALL THE COURT ASAP. Explain your situation and see what they want you to do. And I strongly recommend you make no excuses about not being able to comply with their requests...cause you will only hurt yourself. If you have an appointment, screw it...cause nothing worse then showing up to your appointment and then being arrested 10 minutes later.

Most likely the judge issued a bench warrant for your arrest.

You should contact the court ASAP and explain your failure to appear. Request a new court date.
