Since you are new to airbrushing, you should start with a cheap air compressor, such as the ones offered at automotive supply retailers to inflate tires, etc, and most can adapt to different nozzles, hoses, etc. They go for under $100. That way, if you decide that you don't like it, you won't feel "silly" for having spent more money, and you'll have something that has other uses!

For more info, enter "how to airbrush", without the quotes, into your favorite search engine.

they do have special paints for airbrushing, but I also have seen people use the craft paint found at craft stores. I may be wrong since my boyfriend hasn't airbrushed since we been together you may have to add a little bit of water to the cheaper arclyic paints. I would go to a craft store and ask the person in the paint.art area what would be the best paint for a beg airbrusher. just say that you don't want to spend a lot just want to get something and practice to see if you like it.

just keep in mind you will have to buy an airbrush gun plus the air compressor. You also might want to check your local craft stores for classes on airbrushing, this way you can learn plus see if this is something you will like
