How old do you need to be to buy cigarettes in Amsterdam? Is it the same age for smoking them, but not buying them? And what about drinking? How old to legally buy/drink? Thanks!

For buying cigarettes and for buying beer and wine you need to be 16, 18 for hard spirits.
There is not really a minimum age for drinking and smoking but the government is talking about making a law that sets the same minimum age for drinking and smoking.

For both you need to be 16, although a lot of times you don't get carded.
If you want to buy from a vending machine it usually requires an age coin, which is free, but will only be distributed after they have checked you age.

permit me purely contradict what you're being informed right here. Marijuana isn't criminal right here, purely tolerated. He can purchase a very small quantity in the coffee shops yet you're actually not assume to stroll around smoking it.
