Sometimes during a phone call (and my DSL desktop computer is on), I hear a short burst of touch tone numbers being dialed. Having occurred during two different phone calls, I'm pretty sure its a dialer virus.

However, there is no detection of such from my AVG Free edition virus scanner, Spybot Search N' Destroy or Crap Cleaner.

Is there any other way I can manually seek out and find a dialer virus? What file names and extensions should I look for?

LoL

The phone line shouldnt be connected to the computer if you have DSL. If the phone line is connected in any way to your computer, take it out. You dont need it. All you need to get on the internet is an ETHERNET cable, which looks like a phone line, but is a little bigger.

If you are still hearing the touch tones and the phone isnt connected to the computer, call your phone service company, you definatly have a problem, but it isnt the computer.

A "PC Dialer" virus doesn't actually dial the phone(I don't think), just to let you know. It's probably something to do with the phone.
