I am writing a paper about energy.
And i am using "energy resource" and seeing "energy source" a lot. I am quite confused, which is appropriate?

The source of something may be the person,place or a thing which you get it from.Like earth is source of oil,iron ore,coal, gold ore etc.
The resources of any Nation, organization or persons are the material, money and other things that they possess at present and can use later in order to function properly

Either can be. A source is where the oil comes from initially. A resource is where oil that has been saved or stored comes from. It implies a Saving and planning strategy. Hence RE source.
