I don't know about safety... I suppose that cloth would be if you're worried about the envirnment or your baby peeing on chemicals.
I prefer cloth. I used disposable with my daughter and I use cloth with my son. I don't notice a difference in convenience either- other than two extra loads of laundry a week and that doesn't really matter.
Cloth diapers are super easy these days, there are styles that you use just like a disposable. I use them at home and while I'm out. I just put my dirty diapers in a wetbag instead of the trash and dump them in my pail when I get home.

Are you asking about disposable diapers vs. cloth diapers?

Most people prefer the convenience of disposables, but be aware that they put a lot of chemicals next to your baby's skin. Since they wear diapers 24/7, the exposure is not insignificant. There are more natural disposables available (such as Seventh Generation or Tushies), but they're rather pricey.

Most cloth diapers put cotton against baby's skin. Cloth diapers cost significantly less than disposables over the 2-3 years that a baby is in diapers, but require more frequent changing and, of course, laundering.

I would say cloths are more safer & comfortable for the baby, cause with diapers no air get inside. But with diapers it is convenient. What I do is I make my baby wear cloths when she is at home & use diapers when going out. On rainy day s I make her wear diapers even at home.

It's not a question of safer. Disposables are more convenient than cloth. It's a personal preference.

If you can afford disposables that is the easiest way to plus you will be very busy with the baby. If you cannot afford it then you have no choice.
