Yes you should keep everything. When I applied for social security I had to have both the marriage certificate and divorce decree for my first marriage and a certificate for my current marriage.

I know here in maryland you have to go to your locsl court building to get a marriage certificate. and it is in the same place where you get a license for a business.

Go to the court house to the probate office and you can buy a copy. If you are wanting to get one to get married then you both have to go to the same office and fill out an application.
