Yes. The victim's mother is on right now and my heart is breaking for her. The guy originally raped a woman while laying next two her three year old daughter. After being released, he raped this lady's (on TV now) daughter and smothered her to death with plastic.

It is being said that Huckabee released the rapists due to pressure from people in Arkansas who championed the guy's cause while being rallied by a radio talk show host.

I didn't see the show Chi Guy saw, but I've read some stories on this.

Here are a few interesting details: the Wayne DuMond, had been castrated by some friends of the sheriff and had spent 12 years in jail for the rape. Right wing talk radio had mounted a relentless campaign to free the guy, saying that Clinton had something to do with both the heavy sentence and the piano wire neutering. The previous governor had already commuted DuMond's sentence from natural life to 39 years, then Huckabee wrote the pardon board. Under normal circumstances, 12 years in jail would be a long sentence for a rape, but it is said that Huckabee recommended release because that is what the right wing Republicans wanted.
Because this is such a weird and complex story, I'm going to wait and see what Huckabee says.

All of the candidates probably have a scandal, Giuliani's police force brutalized and killed more than one innocent man, Romney appointed a soft on crime judge who released a man who murdered a young couple, and Romney's national campaign finance co chair, Fabian, was indicted in $36 million fraud. I know that's not comparable, but interestingly this story was buried by Romney's high placed connections and since few people knew about it, he was not forced by public opinion to return the money Fabian had collected. It should not have been an obscure story because it happened at about the same time the Hsu scandal hit Hillary's camp. The difference was that Hsu was a volunteer, but Romney hand picked Fabian, his disgraced fund raiser.

Am I the only one who is not surprised by the Republican corruption?

They are getting exposed for what they really are, one by one.

Senator Foley, Larry Craig, David Viter, Alberto Gonzales, John Ashcroft, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and now Rudy Giuliani.

What is Huckabee right on? There was some sort of redeeming quality about every Republican candidate...

Giuliani - Pro-Choice, Pro-GLBT
Brownback - Against the death penalty
McCain - Against torture
Hunter - Wouldn't win, so it doesn't matter
Thompson - Wouldn't do anything as President

But Huckabee has nothing good about him.

Did you hear his answer at the last debate?
He danced all over the issue of illegal aliens because he supported giving tham cut rate tuition at Arkansas colleges.

I don't think America wants to give illegal aliens any more stuff...period!
I think we have a closet Bush in the making with Huck! yuck!

The rest of the issues? Not as important. Taxes? Huck raised taxes in Arkansas multiple times. We cant trust him there either.
