Yes, but "the meds" help. No, really...I just feel saddened by all the commercialization.
Actually, one year after my father passed away I was really sad and down and holding a private "pity party" for myself. I was alone shopping at an outdoor mall. the were having a singing talent contest and I could hear some woman singing with the most beautiful voice, so I went closer to see who was singing.
There was a large crown and no stage, but I kept moving my head and standing on my tippy toes to get a better look. Finally, I caught a glimpse of a woman in a wheelchair with an incredible smile on her face, just singing her heart out. I felt so ridiculous - that I'd been feeling so down and sorry for myself - when she seemed to have far more to be sad about, but instead she was just singing away with joy in her heart and pleasing the holiday crowd with her incredible voice. It was so wonderful and magic, it actually spread to my heart too, and I went home feeling much better.

There are 3 reasons people get depressed 1. They loose someone or have lost someone dear to them during that time so that gets you down. 2. The weather doesn't know its suppose to be colder. When its hot you think its the summer. 3. Tis the season to get laid off. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I dont get depressed, I get stressed.
Weird that you mention that...you know around the holidays is when the US has the highest number of suicides.

Yeah, Tinkerbelle, you don't seem like the depressive type :)
A lot of people do- I personally LOVE the holidays and I have like NO FRIENDS...it's just all the lights and colors and it begins to snow {sigh}. It's magical.

Yes. I get upset about all the rude and selfish people that are out and about. There is no general feeling of happiness. Just everyone crabby that they are out shopping, cutting in lines, being rude, and out for themselves.
I try to focus on my family and I also do my shopping BEFORE everyone else so I don't have to deal with it. That way we spend the weekends home watching christmas movies, wrapping presents, and playing board games infront of the fireplace, listen to christmas music.
Try to cheer up and focus on the positive!!

Not since I have been married with and had kids. My children bring me the same joy that Christmas gave me as a Child. It feel magical. I hate it when Christmas is over though. I hate taking down the tree... that is depressing.
