The Twins are up against a wall on this one, since not moving him will not help the clubhouse. Santana is a class act, but the club has shown they don't want him...and now he is on the roster to start the 2008 season....that is really great for team morale, especially it appears the team will be getting dismantled over the next two years.

The Yankees did a great job in trying to bring the asking price back into perspective, but Boston also has to call a moratorium to any discussions and then get this thing kick-started in January. As things stand, Boston may over-pay...if not, look for the Dodgers to make a bid and Torre to get a major piece for a possible pennant winner in '08.

i'm ninety 9% beneficial that he would be with the Boston crimson Sox by using the top of the month. the different a million% is going to the manhattan Mets. Yankees wont get him. Angels wont get him. Twins can no longer save him - they have no money! And Johan Santana has an entire no-commerce clause... and he has pronounced that he might veto any commerce in the time of the season. So the Twins could desire to commerce him till now the season starts off, or he's gonna walk as a loose agent next twelve months.

The Yankees won't need Johan because of have resign Petitte and A-Rod to new contracts. The Yankees are out from the chase to land Johan. That left only Red Sox on the chase. The Red Sox is staying at the race to land Johan for the prospects.

Minnesota will move him, but I really think the Yankee's will spend the money. Boston won't give up their young pitching and won't sign him for 20 mil a year for 8 years. NY will to get over the first round.

I think the Twins realized...almost too late...that they were under-selling Johann.....The Cabrera trade showed the Twins (IMHO) that if Cabrera and Willis is worth that...Santana has to be close to that somewhere....and Crisp, Lester and a minor league INF wasn't it.

I think if The Red Sox (or anybody) wants him...the offers need to get better.

I can't imagine the Angels getting him...they probably have the best starters in the league already...if they are going to trade their young bargaining chips...you gotta figure they'll address a weakness, not a strength.

Boston, they're the only team who have the talent & the $$$ to trade for him. Even the Yankees said it's too expensive for them since Pettitte resigned. Apparently, cashman claimed that they cannot justify another $20+ mil deal after signing A-Rod for so much.

well it's obvious that when boston heard that the Yankees were only goin to sign him to use against the Red sox that the Red Sox would try and minnesota said hell no to the greedy yankees and i think boston is doin the same thing to get back at the yankees and it's not to hard for minnesota to see that so i think minnesota will keep him.....

I have no idea where he will end up going to, if he does leave Minnesota or if he does re-sign with them. But that choice is up to him, to decide where he wants to play baseball in 2008, and which team do play for. Even if Boston doesn't get him.

Yankees won't get him, they're out of the "chase".

Boston will probably get him, but as a Boston fan, I don't think he's worth it.
