If all 4 wheels can be aligned, then always do a 4-wheel alignment. The 2-wheel alignment is really only for older cars with solid rear axles and semi-eliptic leaf springs. Since the rear alignment cannot be adjusted, you only need to have the front 2 wheels done.

Some cars or vans have an alignment setting for the rear---some don't. Usually front wheel drive cars or vans need a four wheel alignment and they may need other special requirements to align properly. Check with local alignment shops or a dealer as to whether yours does or not.

you should always do a four wheel alignment I do it every year. your alignment gets messed up from hitting bumps too fast and also from lots of hard cornering. A four wheel alignment will make a world of difference as apposed to a two wheel alignment were they just align the front wheels. A four wheel alignment will make the car handle much better your cornering ability and braking ability will be improved not to mention you tire wear will be reduced which means longer tire life.

when you have a car that steers from the front and the back, generally most cars only steer from the front, there are a few exceptions on newer cars ...can't quote the models to you but your owners manual will let you know if your car has this cutting edge , new technology
