What do you think of me If I am black and I don't listen to rap or hiphop?

I hate both of them because they are all about money and sex. I also think that there is nothing artistic about rap.

I am not ignorant I did not say that it was a problem! I just asked what people thought of it. I generally listen to rock,pop,jazz... the list goes on.

Oh Linah reminded me, classical is the most interesting of all genres! It is interpreted differently by the listener and never gets old!

I respect your opinion but before you have an opinion you need to be educated on the subject in which you are placing your opinion on. i am a black I'm well-spoken & intelligent person and love rap music. not because I'm hood or secretly wish I had a thug as a boyfriend but because it IS art.But the the commercial crap they call rap in 2007 is not art. take it back to the real hip hop days and it is art. ANd to correct yoou it's not all about money and sex. It's about Life. the someone's own personal struggle Period. You obliviously have not done your research...do us all a favor and go listen to atleast one 2pac CD...O and while you're sittin on your a** worried bout them they are making mills honey. I'll bet we agree and disagree on many things that we do not think that we would. But, race aside, upon this we agree.

It's just obnoxious, over-loud, ugly sounding crap to me. The beat is interesting sometimes, but so loud and over-bearing that it is not remotely enjoyable. Even the rap with innocuous or positive social lyrics sounds ugly. That which doesn't just celebrates misogyny, hatred, racism, drugs, gangsta mentality and social irresponsibility (anarchy really), and unjustified male self-adulation.

as long as u dont listen to country then we good. (joke) I think people shouldnt box themselves in. I grew up listening to hip hop, r&b and disco then as i grew older my music evolved to Jazz and Blues with some rock tossed in. But there are positive hip hop artists out there like Common and Talib K , Roots and they dont talk about bling and garbage like that

My girlfriend's black and a diehard AC/DC fan. She listens to nothing but hard rock. So I'd say "To each their own. Keep living the way you want to live."

I don't care what color you are. That isn't relevant to me or to the music (if I may use the word loosely) .. I don't like Rap, Hip hop either. First of all, I can't understand it. (It makes no sense to me, just a beat, no melody) That isn't music, it's just noise.
