I am aware that the two programs will try to destroy eachother, meanwhile destroying my computer. McAffe is the protection I purchased for my pc, will the Norton from Yahoo damage it? What should I do?

You only have McAfee running on your pc. Reason is that you installed Mcafee. Yahoo uses Nortons, and it is not running unless you download and install. Your mail from yahoo or hotmail if you use their services scan for viruses in attachments from their server. Not from your pc.

So there is no conflict and nothing to worry about.

Yahoo e-mail is scanned for viruses at the server level, not locally on your computer.
