Yes you can simply buy a new one. However, if you don't know what you're doing, I wouldn't do it yourself. Get a tech-savvy friend to help you figure out exactly what screen you need and help you instal it. There's lots of things that can go wrong with you computer (It could short, get the cables damaged, etc) and to you (You can be electricuted, cut, etc)
P.S. Be aware that with some laptop screens the retail price is so high it's cheaper to buy a new laptop. Manufactures buy thousands of them at a time and get them cheaper than what it will cost you to but one. Research the cost of the screen vs. a new laptop.

Yes you can replace the screen. eBay is a good source. Be careful to buy a screen with a return policy if the screen is DOA. Good luck

Umm yeah...i did same thing, and replacement was attempted but in my expeirence it would have been cheaper to just buy another. I eventually did after paying for repairs that didnt work.
Then I got insurance on my laptops, extra for accidental even, 'idiot' damage.
So when I spilt a whole cup of tea on the keyboard of my last one, I had a brand new replacement within a week :)

Having experienced this FAR too many times, you don't want to screw with laptop screen replacement. Get a new laptop and take better care of it. Things happen. Sorry to tell you that.

Yes it should work fine as long as its not defective. Laptops screens are a little difficult to replace, because there are certain steps to take. you need someone with a little experience to help, unless you are pretty computer savvy.

i have replaced screen several times on different laptops. some laptop are easier than others. get the instruction manual first and see if it's easy to replace it yourself before buying the screen.
double check and see if your laptop has any type of warranty that covers it.

Always buy something, used or new, with UVC ultraviolet germicidal sterilization with warranty. These sharp metal and tiny wires are easy cut fingers and broken; need skills of professional or ship to me (?)

Yes, you need a replacement screen. You may also get one under warranty or insurance... if you're lucky.
