I need a nice, professional looking black suit for an engineering presentation I have on Friday. I thought about just going to Men's Warehouse to rent one, but for how much that costs, I might as well just buy one because I'll have it forever and I'll be needing it again for a job fair next semester and for another presentation I have.

I really don't know what to look for though...if I just walk in to Men's Warehouse and tell them what I want the suit for, will they be able to pretty much take care of everything for me? Or is that not a good idea for some reason...let me know your thoughts.

Any nice store should be able to help you. But some things you can keep in mind while shopping would be in buying your suit consider the fabric, style and fit. Wool is the best all-around fabric. You already know you want black. Three button jacket is considered the classic look. Jacket sleeve should come to the wrist bone, lapel should lay flat with 1/2 inch collar showing ,the jacket should cover the bottom. Pants should break at the laces of the shoe. You should be able to lift your arms easily in the jacket and please don't let the buttons look like they are pulling when the jacket is buttoned. You should own your suit. Everyone needs a suit to wear to weddings, funerals and job interviews. Black, charcoal and navy are good basic colors. Good luck
