The A string of a violin is a little too tightly stretched. Four beats per second are heard when the string is together with a tuning fork that is oscillating accurately at concert A (440 Hz).

What is the period of the violin string oscillation?

the four beats/sec means that the frequency of the sound is off by 4 Hz so your frequency is either 444 or 436 Hz and you should know how to find the period, thats probably the easiest thing in this problem
