It's not just a question of changing the constitution. How do you successfully get all the guns out of circulation? People who already use guns for criminal activities are not going to worry about owning illegal guns. Also there is a possibility that crime could increase. If criminals know that if they decide to rob someone that that person does not have the means with which to defend themselves they are more likely to commit the crime.

Yeah guns can mean trouble, yet if a few good citizens had been armed when this fool began shooting maybe there would be fewer people dead. I am a supporter of the freedom to bear arms. I enjoy hunting, I do not eat the meat, but I always clean it and give it to people who do like to eat it, I mean I do not want to wast it that would be bad. I think what this person did is horrible. I mean all this and here it is almost Christmas. Think about all the people who's holidays are now ruined because of this fool. I do wish someone had had a gun on them and was able to take that person out before they caused so much harm.

Firstly, GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE.
Secondly, the reason there are so many gun crimes, is because there are so few people who actually have the damn things.

Besides that, if we had gun control, how would our militia protect us? Don't think they are part of the government. The whole idea of having the militia is to keep the government in check. Without the right to bear arms, they would cease to exist, and there would be nothing to stop our government from taking over everyones lives. (Think Cuba or China)

People don't like to look at the sensible solution. They would rather the government took care of them. Look, maybe you want the government to run your life, but some of us prefer to live out our lives the way we like. Thats why we came over here in the first place.

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people, blah, blah, blah..." Oh, just give it UP, you morons...people with GUNS kill people. I'll take my chances against someone wielding a knife or a hammer any day.
These are the same idiots who piss and moan that automobiles kill as well, so should we ban them?----There's a huge difference. Cars aren't intended to kill; when they do, it's called an "accident". Guns have no other purpose for existing but to kill.
Unfortunately, this god-forsaken nation is held in the iron grip of a bunch of lunatics called the National Rifle Association, who do all but insist that it's every American's "right" to own an RPG launcher. Until our pathethic, pitiful politicians stop shaking in their boots and stand up to these idiots, nothing's gonna change. Virginia Tech came and went; nothing happened, and I'm sure this latest incident will fail to create any ripples either.
Any American who has never been a victim of gun-related violence is just plain LUCKY. (And the unlucky ones are just plain dead.)

Edit: Har, Misty, it does seem that way---but in our case, we're answering the same questions 'cause great minds think alike ;)

Edit to Sam: So FEW guns!? Dude, there are more guns than people in this country!
Okay, I'm thinking of say, Great Britain, or Japan, or Canada, here. Strict gun controls in place, yet somehow they've managed to escape the evil clutches of dictatorship. Start thinking fast, and come up with ANOTHER stupid reason.

I believe in the right to bear arms.

Having said that-GUNS DO KILL PEOPLE! I'll prove it.
You attack me without a gun? You're dead.
You attack me WITH a gun? I'm dead.
The difference is the gun.

Why do I believe in the right to bear arms? Simple. I believe in the original spirit of the law. In other words, I don't trust the government.

I live in Omaha and have most of my life. I'd really like to know how this kid got a gun in the first place. The local news is saying it was given to him TODAY by a relative.

Once again - it's not the guns but the nuts that cause the problem. A bunch of preschool kids were killed by a man who slammed his car through the fence around the playground. Repealing our right to bare arms would not have saved those kids.
