I'm going on a first date with this girl this week, and originally I had asked her to go to the movies...a few days after that I asked her if she'd rather go see a particular show instead (cause the show looked good), she said yes.
Now, due to some complications, I thought it would be simpler to go see the movie instead of the show, so I sent her a message saying "What day would you like to go see that movie we talked about" . She replied with "Okay...but I thought you said you'd rather go see the show". I sent her a message back saying the reason why I switched from the show to the movie.
However, the bigger thing here is that I lied in the original message, and I like this girl and the last thing I want is to lie to her.
So I sent her a message tonight saying that "I should've told you the reason why I changed my mind from the show to the movie instead of saying 'that movie we talked about'. I'm sorry for lying"
Can I have a woman's perspective on this?
Thank you

yeah...you really shouldn't have lied. I know that I personally don't like to have plans changed on me. If you do it once then its okay, but a lot goes into planning what you are going to wear out and where you are planning on going. If you had a valid reason for not seeing the show then you should have told her. Hopefully she was really into you, because you are looking like a flake to her right now and if she really likes you, you can redeem yourself. So play the gentlemen now...and DON'T LIE! Its horrible, and the next time you make a date with her keep it the same.

Its never good to lie but its always good to admit it and apologize if it is that you do lie. If she didn't get turned off by that lie just try and be as honest as possible. It is very important to be honest. I personally fell in love with my boyfriend because of that, that he is a very honest person, and plus obviously i love his personality and style and mind and... well i just love everything, but it all started with his honesty. So i really suggest to be honest from now on and i assure you things will work out fine.
Hope this helps. Bye.

If I were her, I'd want the truth. No white lies either. Just tell her what happened. It's better to be honest, now, and wait until later. She'll just hate you more if she found out your full of lies. Don't be scared. Stable relationships are built on honesty and trust.

This whole thing just seems weird.
If you have some ulterior motive for lying to her, maybe you shouldn't be seeing her. If it's not a big deal, then don't tell her about your real reasons for switching the plan. It'll only be a big deal if you make it so.

i cant exactly help you because i dont know wat you lied about. it doesnt seem like a big lie so it kind of makes it look like your trying too hard..i kno that i would be a little to weirded out by your honesty of saying movie instead of show..it seems like your taking it a little out of hand..lol sorry..anyway..i think you are too stressed out and maybe should cool down a little bit because girls dont like guys who are so tense and think about every word they say..but you do seem like a really nice guy..

I'm not sure which part was the lie, but to be honest, I wouldn't go out with anyone who lied to me.

well i think it was bad for lying but it was good that you told the truth because its better to tell the truth than lie because i would of been mad if it was me and you waited so long to tell me.

i think its really good that you apologized before she got the chance to ask you why you lied.
if I were her i would forgive you and not hold it against you, because it really isnt that big of a deal
