Ultimately, doing the same performance over and over will rub some people a little raw on the topic, so avoid an endless repetition of the same. In order to really satisify your audience, you should be seeking continuous feed back during your Oral performance. You can then adjust to suit on the fly, during the presentation. Flexibility is always valuable in such situations. This will take some practice and will come in time as you develop your oral skills. Additionally, Spice your orals up don't be afraid to let your tongue lead you to places and subjects that you normally wouldn't be comfortable with. The audience can have a wide variety of wants, so be prepared to meet them. Hope this helps.

It's all obvious stuff.
People who buy guns legally don't "usually" use them to commit crimes.

When people can easily and legally carry a weapon, crime goes down.

It was put into the constitution for a reason. Not to just protect you from criminals, but other governments and our own government from becoming to controlling and taking away all our rights. With out citizens being able to own guns we never would have been able to break away from British rule. And on that thought don't let any one think that could not happen again today as we lose are rights one at a time since 911 in the name of National Security. Yes I know we have to be protected, but when do we have enough controls and when do they give us our rights back?

That's the website to the Bureau of Justice Statistics. It tells you all about crimes commited by firearm.

If you scroll down a bit, it also gives links for background checks for firearm transfers (sales) and a whole host of information about weapon use and violent crime.

A good idea would be to compare the US stats to stats with countries that have strict gun control (i.e. Japan and Germany). Germany, for example, has 85 million inhabitants and in 04 had 185 gunshot deaths. The US has 300+ million people and had about 10,000 (conservatively speaking) murders by gunshot in 04. I don't have Japan's numbers handy, but you can find those on the net.

A good reference is the Lott/Mustard Gun Control Study
Or you can look for More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crim and Gun Control Laws by John R Lott, University of Chicago.
The study was a very comprehensive one on gun control laws.
you should be able to find that by doing a search.

Go to the NRA ILA web page, they will have the statistics you are looking for. Also, a lot of people say that the Second Amendment doesn't apply to regular people since it uses the term militia. I would point out the definition under U.S. Law as to what is meant by the militia, in particular, the unorganized militia (which is basically all males between the age of 17 and 45 who are not in the military, the reserves or he National Guard).

TITLE 10 Subtitle A PART I CHAPTER 13 § 311

§ 311. Militia: composition and classes

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are—

(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

All of those things are dependant on the state you live in. Google your state's gun laws.

Mostly I just wanted to say thank you for being against gun control. :)

Cheers
