I work in cosmetics so I will tell you what I know. You're talking about the covergirl mousse as well, yeah?

Okay, they are both different to liquid foundations. You can apply them both with just your fingers and then blend with a sponge. If you want a different type of finish you can also wet your sponge slightly.

If you have dry skin then I wouldn't recommend that you use the mousse foundations. They give a really powdery finish so if you didn have dry skin they would appear a little flaky.

It's the type of thing where you won't need to apply a powder over the top of it as it also gives that effect.

If you want that finish and you don't have dry skin, then it should be fine.

I use it. I tried the covergirl trublend AND maybelline and I liked maybelline better. It was lighter and provided better coverage. The dream matte mousse was also really light and even though it was a whipped texture (like chocolate mousse), it felt like powder as I applied it. It didn't make my face shiny at all.

How I use it: I sweep my finger across the surface (only take a little) and then I speckle little dots all over my face with it. Then, I use all my fingers to blend it in really well. Make sure you blend it in really good! You don't need to use powder afterward, but I do because my face really oily. It provides awesome coverage

Umm it depends on what you are doing, or how hot it is. I live in so cal, mine doesnt last all day i have to re- apply. I had been using dream matte mousse ever since it came out, and just stopped, and now my face doesnt have as much acne.

i've only tried dream matte mousse, but that's really good,it feels super light and soft u have you apply it with ur fingers,it's not liquid,it's like a dry mousse,if that makes any sense,

you can hardly feel it,but if you've got dry skin it makes your skin look kinda flakey!
i always put on some moisturizer, wait 10 mins and then put it on!!!!!

I love Dream Matte Mousse and Powder! It makes my skin nice, but since I'm a teen, I use it as a concealer, not fondation.
