Actually, this year, you may have a point. I'm a fan of a Big 12 team in Big 10 country, and I keep hearing about how tough the conference is. I always brought up Iowa State beating Iowa (not a point to win me any popularity contests here in Iowa City, as you can imagine) and Missouri over Illinois. Of course, people tell me it's not fare to base my opinion of the Big 10 on those two games, that there had to be plenty of examples of Big 10 teams winning games against tough non conference foes. The problem is, there isn't. I satrted looking at the OOC games of all the Big 10 teams, and out of all 11 teams, the best non conference win was Wisconsin's victory over Washington State. That's it. The best non-conference victory for the entire conference this year was over a team that finished 7th in the Pac 10.

The Big Ten has been the most overrated conference the past 2 years. The Big Ten went 2-5 in bowl games (Wisconsin and Penn State getting the only wins) and the people who were arguing for their Michigan-OSU rematch were embarrassed when both lost their bowl games. This year, I don't think the Big Ten beat any good out of conference teams. I do remember Illinois losing to Mizzou, Northwestern losing to Duke (1-11), Iowa losing to Iowa State (3-9) and Minnesota lost to everyone. And, the Big Ten had 2 losses to 1-AA schools (App State over Michigan and North Dakota State over Minnesota)
The WAC won a BCS bowl game last season, something the Big Ten failed to do (in 2 attempts) and I think almost any current BCS team (with exception of kansas) could beat Ohio State.
They should at least rename the conference the Big 11 already.

lmao stupides posting i've even seen.
You say no big ten school has a SOS over 50 while the WAC has the bottom 2 teams in all of Divsion 1 with Hawaii at 120 and Boise st. at 119 and there scheudeles the only reason they have a good record. Also Illinosi has the 8 hardest SOS in division 1 playing missouri ohio st. and wisconsin when they were #5 and 2 other ranked teams with a 9-3 record. Face it man the WAC sucks just get used to it wow your so dumb.

The WAC is a a lot inferior league to the large 10+a million. i'm no longer partial to both convention yet I do appreciate the large 10+a million. they could be down this 12 months yet they could nonetheless smoke the WAC. Even this loopy 12 months. Appy State might want to be between the WAC's better efficient communities.

The Big 10 has too many big named teams with a great history of college football (including lots of national championships from it's team), plus they have too much influence to be replaced.
What does the WAC have? Sure they are one of the better mid-majors and they produce 2-3 teams that make it on the radar of the Top 25 on a regular basis, but that's about it.
Also, this year has been one crazy year for a lot of the traditional power house teams, and the Big 10 teams this year may not be a strong on paper compared to the SEC, PAC 10 and ACC, but you gotta look at what the conference has done in the long run.

And the toughest strength of schedule in the WAC, according to Sagarin, is 71st (Utah State). How is this better than the Big Ten? You're wrong about the Big Ten's SOS, by the way, as Illinois' SOS is 41st, Michigan's is 35th, and Minnesota's is 39th. The rest are all, with the exception of Indiana, higher than Utah State's 71st.
The Big Ten blows, but if you're going to replace them with a conference, you'd replace them with the Mountain West.

You get dumber by the hour.
Better check those SOS ratings again. Illinois is ranked 10th and OSU is tied for 48th. Minnesota was the only team to finish with a losing record too.
Hawaii comes in at 117. Boise State isn't far away from that either.

Big East

wow, Big East history playing the 5 other elite conferences....hmmm not ONE winning record, but look on the bright side, you can beat Nobody University from the Sun Belt
if there is any conference switching the Big East would be the first to go....STATS DONT LIE
