A rock I found when I was a kid. It's smooth and round. What the heck... here it is:

I found it when I was 4 and I thought it was cool. It might be a fossilized egg, or it might be quartzite. I'm hoping to meet with a geologist soon to find out. If it's quartzite, it would have to be extremely old to be that round.

My dad's wooden slide rule, which he probably bought as a kid in the 1930s with paper route money. He was huge on math. When metal slide rules arrived, he put it in the attic and I didn't find it until we were going through their house after Hurricane Katrina killed him.
