Why is that I print maybe 3 times a month and have to clean the ink cartridge nossiles sometimes cause it dries up so fast and it doesn't seem like a good printer? What are your impressions?

ALl lexmark printers suck. Are you using a number 17 cartridge? I bet you are. They are incredibly low volume cartirdges, that are only good for about 60 pages (this is drastically reduced by cleanings) THe number 16 has more ink, it is of course more expensive, however it has more ink.

I would put the printer in the bin, or give it to somebody you don't really like and go buy a shiney new canon. You can probably get a whole new printer for the cost of one measely lexmark cartirdge.

All ink jet printers use ink up fast because that is where the companies make the most money . They could and sometime do give the printers away free so that you will have to buy their cartridges.

It is all about the money

Hi. The tiny holes that form the jets need to be used at least once a week. Just print a test page. Doesn't use much ink. Cleaning uses quite a bit more.

call a office supply store and see if they can sell you a high yield cartridge....the ones that lexmark puts out are only like 1/4 filled. you can buy a remanufacted high yield that will last about 4 times longer.

It depends on which cartridge number you are using. The #16 or #17 both for Black . #17 is filled only half full.

I got rid of mine and bought a HP C4200. Glad I did
