I currently share a bank and savings account with my mother. She has terminal cancer. She currently has a credit card with the same credit union. This is not a joint credit card. Could I be liable for her credit card debt after her passing. She has no assets or an estate.

My condlolences to both you and yor mother but tell her to fight that for as long as possible. A friend was given that diagnosis and lived another several years longer than the doctor expected. No, you are not responsible for her credit card debt unless your name is on the card. the creditors may go over money in your shared bank account though so better to close that and each open a separate account.

No you are not responsible for debts or accounts of others unless you are a co-owner or co-signer. However, if you use the card illicitly you could be in trouble.
