It snowed a lot here in Chicago last night and a bit of today and as I walk from public transportation to my building, I notice that everyone salts the sidewalk. I bought a nice pair of boots last year and I've noticed that the salt gets on them and as far as I'm concerned it's ruining them. I feel that every building I pass should be responsible for my boots. They are Timberlands and just because I got them on sale doesn't mean that I should have to pay for this damage. Cleaning them myself will not restore them to their natural beauty.

Do you think that asking a dollar from each building is a bit much?

Don't sell yourself short girlfriend. Ask each building to provide a courier for you, to carry you from one end of the building to the next, where the next courier could take over.

It shouldn't matter that you are wearing quality shoes......it should only matter that you are recognized as special.

That's the nature of winter, what did you think was going to get on your boots, are you also going to sue the towns that salt the roads because it's causing rust on your car? I understand being upset, but I don't think you've thought this one through, you should be able to clean them and maybe put some sealer on them that will help with any kind of staining.

if you want I can have Donald Trump's Hair sent up there. I hear its very versatile. You can use it to brush your boots, sweep the sidewalk or walk at least 3" above the snow.

Why stop there? Why not have them roll out a red carpet for you everywhere you go? Heck, you're worth it, right?! : )
Great question! Ahahaa everybody's such a tight *ss tonight!

Asking for so much as a cent would be too much.

If you don't want your boots to be damaged, don't wear them in extreme weather - wear something else.

oh yeah that's a bit much...If they didn't put salt down and you broke your leg u would want them to pay for that too. As nice as they are they are shoes, they are made to go on the ground which means they are going to get dirty. if you don't want them to get dirty keep them in the box and admire them from there. sorry that you shoes are dirty but it is to be expected and it is unavoidable.

They are timberlands for crying out loud. you can hose them off. if it's suede keep brushing it. You ask for a dollar you may end up with cement boots
