I have a real mess with their droppings.

You can try a plastic owl. You will have to move it daily, so the ducks don't get used to it not moving.
Short of this, the only other option would be to get a dog.

Wow! You must have a really great place! Get a Border Collie. I'll let you bring Miss Petunia over,and she'll chase them off,but you'll have to play "Cat" with her first. No Really, Get a Border Collie, they are wonderful dogs. But for now, do you have any kids in the neighborhood?

have they moved in permanently ?... or are they finding some food in your yard and stopping on the way south?.... those droppings are great fertilizer and they're ridding your lawn of some bad bugs I'll bet.... and I'm guessing they'll move ON when the food is gone.... so maybe you could just wait them out?.... a good hose=down should clean up the lawn and drive after they've gone... right?....

Short of the dog ideas above....a regular dose of firecrackers will do the trick.
