To me, massive comes off as a more descriptive adjective; I was often taught, and hence am not quite fond of them, that the use of adverbs, particularly those ending in "ly" should be kept to a minimum because words using them tend to not have the same breathtaking majesty. It really all depends on the writer, their tone, and the sort of literary work they're crafting. Adverbs can be useful in creating a whimsical, playful, or even sarcastic tone, so it's up to you.

Here's another option you might find feasible; you could also say 'absolutely massive'!

Massive. Use this when huge doesn't describe it properly.

The definition of massive is:
ADJECTIVE: 1. Consisting of or making up a large mass; bulky, heavy, and solid:

The definition of Huge is:
ADJECTIVE: 1. Of exceedingly great size, extent, or quantity.

So is your "something" best described as making up a large mass or exceedingly great?

I personally find the definition of huge more appealing.
*wink wink*

I'd have to go with 'massive'...after all, you never hear of anyone having an 'absolutely huge' heart attack, do you?

I'd go with Huge. Better visual anyways. To me, massive almost sounds like your trying too hard. ☺

Don't say "absolutely huge". It doesn't sound good. Say "massive".
