Generalizing is never a good idea, nor is it fair to everybody. Just because one representative of a particular category did something wrong doesn't mean everybody who fits in that category is capable of the same thing. I remember talking to a woman at a social gathering once who asked me halfway through the conversation if I was a firefighter. I said no and asked why, and she said, "Because I dated a firefighter a few years ago. He dumped me, and now I don't date firefighters anymore." Is that a fair thing to say? Just because one firefighter did something wrong doesn't mean all firefighters do the same thing. Same with Christians. Hawkins was definitely not acting in a Christlike manner. The most fundamental part of Christian faith is the commandment "thou shalt not kill." Christ taught a higher law that one should always love their fellow man. Labeling and profiling people is just a mean way to judge others. It's borderline racism.

You have to realize that a belief in a baseless superstition is a sign of immaturity at the very least and is also a sign of mental illness at the most.
I say Let the immature ones alone, but be aware that some are dangerous and should be avoided at all costs due to their extreme mental condition.

Should we profile idiots just because they run the country? Not everyone who claims Christianity has a clue how to act like Christ.

Actually quite a good question. If the shooter was a Muslim you can bet every Muslim in Kansas would be profiled and anyone of them even coming within 2 miles of a Mall would be arrested on the spot.

I think what you mean is should we profile anglo-americans...but how many buzz cut Timothy McVeigh look-a-likes have been pulled over or profiled because they fit that description?...I see what you mean...but it ain't gonna happen...or who knows maybe they'll get hassled like the goth kids were after columbine....

No. How can you believe that all christians would be the same as this guy. What about muslims and Osama Bin Laden, doesn't mean that all of them are the same as him.
