Today is my birthday and my Husband has been at work all day long and then says he's going to take me out to dinner. He gets home and decides to cook me dinner instead. He gave one option for dinner and then got mad and decided to eat dinner by himself (right in front of me) and went right to bed. I am sorry but I feel he is a big jerk for doing this especially on my birthday.

sweetie i went through the samething, so far for the 3 years that i have been with my husband all my birthdays were nightmares, this year on my birthday he called me a ***** (i was moody i had my period) then he walked off and didnt come home till late, then he took me to pizza hut while i cried and he ate, then we came back home
no birthday cake, not even a sorry

Even though it is your birthday he did have to work all day. He said he was going to take you out to dinner but he decided to cook for you. He might have been tired to go out again. To me that says that he cares enough to do something personal and intimate for you.
Maybe he is irritable from something that happened at work. And you might have been pushy because it was your birthday. He did try to do something nice for you though.
Talk it out with him. It maybe just a misunderstanding.

Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong.
Some men don't realize how much birthdays, anniversaries, etc. mean to us women. After a few days let him know how hurt you were and maybe in the future he will behave differently.

Sure it sounds like he is being a jerk... but I feel we are not getting all the details.
What you should be asking yourself is why is he being such a jerk.

yeah i think you need to have a chat to him and remind him that it is your birthday call up a couple of friends right now and get them to take you out for a few drinks cause it's your birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! i'm sorry it seems **** now but turn it around and make it a good one.. do somethign special for you
