sensory nerves carry impulses to the spinal cord, it gets processed there, and gets carried back to the organ effectors by muscle nerves. don't quote me on that but I think this is correct.

The peripheral nervous system and the sympathetic nervous system both feed information into the central nervous system. Also to be included are the special senses of vision, hearing, taste and smell.
